Welcome to our Sixth Form
You are about to begin two incredibly exciting and important years. You will be studying the subjects that really interest you, working with teachers who share your passion and enthusiasm for them. As well as planning for university and beyond with confidence…
Our Sixth Form is truly unique in the region offering you a bespoke academic approach with inspirational teachers, superb facilities and like-minded, ambitious peers. We know that you’ll work hard to meet high academic standards – and our Electives and extracurricular programme will also help you develop new interests and skills that will stay with you for life.
Being part of a GDST Sixth Form brings unrivalled benefits for all our Sixth Formers, especially being part of a network of over 70,000 career women in the GDST alumnae network. Many are leaders in their chosen fields and will be there to inspire, support and mentor you during your progress through the Sixth Form and university and onto your chosen career.
In addition to your challenging and rewarding A-Level studies, enriching Electives and other cultural and sporting activities, you can contribute to the wider community on a local, national and global scale. From running a social enterprise to volunteering in the local community as a Young Philanthropy ambassador or participating in a turtle conservation project during an expedition to Malaysia, there are genuine opportunities to make a real difference.
We encourage applications from girls who sat their GCSEs elsewhere – so we welcome many new girls each September. You’ll find a warm, friendly atmosphere in our Sixth Form Common Room and Café, teachers who take a close, personal interest in you as an individual, and the opportunity to build a unique portfolio of personal interests. This means the transition into our Sixth Form will be a smooth and enjoyable experience.
If you would like to visit us, our current Sixth Formers would be delighted to show you around and answer any questions.
